Children of Promise, NYC, Bronx, NY
Children of Promise, NYC (CPNYC) is dedicated to embracing and empowering children of incarcerated parents, helping them break the cycle of intergenerational involvement in the criminal justice system through academic enrichment, mental health counseling, youth development, and family support services. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will support Bronx Horizons: College and Vocational Pathways Initiative, providing CPNYC teens with weekly visits to colleges, universities, vocational schools and trade schools. Additionally, students will participate in workshop sessions led by a college counselor providing guidance on essays, financial aid applications, and enrollment requirements. Students will also have dedicated academic time with tutors built into CPNYC’s daily after-school program. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will help expand students’ horizons by exposing them to educational and career opportunities helping them envision possibilities for their futures.
Fresno Philharmonic Association, Fresno County, California
The Fresno Philharmonic Link Up Music Education Program engages 7,500 students from more than 100 elementary schools by teaching them how to play an instrument. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will allow students to participate in one of six culminating concerts in May 2027 in Fresno’s William Saroyan Theatre. In preparation for the concerts, the Fresno Philharmonic will provide curriculum materials for recorder and voice, teacher orientation, and support. Beyond music education, Link Up provides opportunities for creativity, self-expression and connection. For students with limited access to arts experiences, the program fosters a sense of belonging and pride while bringing young musicians together for a memorable community celebration.
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley, San Joaquin County, California
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley’s Fresh Food 4 Kids (FF4K) program helps address food insecurity by providing nutritious food to students and families at 15 school sites throughout Stockton. Each month, SHGV delivers four to six pallets of food, including fresh produce, meats, dairy, and shelf-stable staples to underserved neighborhood schools, where staff and volunteers distribute groceries to students and their families through walk-up and drive-thru formats. The program also stocks school pantries, giving students access to snacks, lunches and essential food items during the school day. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will help purchase approximately 20,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables for distribution to Stockton families, ensuring they have access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.
