ALL RISE Team Report Winter 2020

ALL RISE Team Report Winter 2020

As fall gives way to winter, temperatures drop, leaves change to yellow and orange, eventually our trees will be bare. Then before we know it the temperature begins to rise, trees start to bud and give way to new foliage. As seasons come and go, I nd myself pausing to reect on days gone by and dreaming of tomorrow. One word keeps popping up in my mind: gratitude.

ALL RISE Foundation to Present the Run & Walk Against Hunger 2020 Benefiting the Stockton Emergency Food Bank

STOCKTON – The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton / San Joaquin, who produces the annual Run & Walk Against Hunger in Stockton is happy to announce that the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation has joined us this year to be the presenting sponsor of the event.  The event will now be the Run & Walk Against Hunger presented by the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation.

The ALL RISE Foundation began working with the Emergency Food Bank in 2019 as the sponsor of the event’s start line, and this year enhanced their partnership to be the presenting sponsor.  Patty Judge, Executive Director of the foundation explains why the foundation wanted to partner with the Food Bank “During this season of Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for organizations such as The Emergency Food Bank - and for the opportunity to give back to our community through this great community event! We are very excited to be the presenting sponsor for 2020,” states Patty Judge, Executive Director of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation.  “Since it is virtual this year, Aaron will miss the in-person run, which has been his family Thanksgiving tradition for nearly 10 years but will participate virtually along with the community!  Due to COVID-19 our communities are being hit hard.  This compounds the pre-COVID community needs related to food insecurities, health, and nutrition. The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton offers a variety of programs that address these concerns.  They provide food for the hungry to improve the health and well-being of San Joaquin County including children and youth, our most vulnerable.”

“We couldn’t be more thankful to Aaron, Patty and everyone with the ALL RISE Foundation for their continued support.  They have been great partners of our event and we are happy to have their foundation be part of the event name this year.” said Leonard Hansen, Executive Director of the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton and San Joaquin.  The 2020 version of the Run & Walk Against Hunger marks the 16th year for the event.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the event will be virtual, but the need for the support of the food bank is larger than ever.  The Emergency Food Bank has seen a notable growth in demand for support from the community and supporting this event will help the Food Bank continue to serve those in need throughout the year.

ALL RISE Mini-Grant Awarded to First Tee San Joaquin!

Aaron Judge, New York Yankee and former Fresno State Bulldog, and founder of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation is proud to announce that the First Tee San Joaquin is the recipient of the $2,500 Summer 2020 Mini-Grant for school activities, health & well-being, youth citizenship and character development.

For over 22 years First Tee of San Joaquin has been using the platform of golf to provide innovative and experiential learning opportunities for young people. Character education and long-term life skills are at the heart of the programs, which are delivered by coaches who have been trained in positive youth development. First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and it’s inherent values to kids and teens. Through after-school and in-school programs, they help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf. The mini-grant funds will be used for “golferships” - registration fees for 40-50 under-served youth.

“Any time character education is built into activities for our youth, it makes a huge impact on our communities”, states Aaron Judge, Founder of Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation. “First Tee Golferships will enable kids to participate that may have never had the chance.”

The Mini-Grant Award Program is possible due to the generous sponsors of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation. All funds raised through our events go directly to children and youth programs in San Joaquin County that support ongoing education and citizenship."
