Inspired by the book Hey Dad! Let’s Have a Catch, by Harold Theurer, JR is announcing our campaign of Just Five Minutes. In the book, Harold asks his very busy father for five minutes to play catch. That five minutes would often turn into 15 or 20. Over the years, these moments were opportunities to connect, share stories and have conversations about what was happening in their lives.
Just Five Minutes is all it takes to start a game of catch and have a conversation with a young person in your life. It’s a chance to connect, share “catch phrases” and other pauses in a very busy day. In many cases, it’s the time of being together that is enough
We invite everyone to join us in playing catch. Over the next few months you will see videos and resources appear on our social media networks. We encourage everyone: mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, guardian, coach, or teacher to just take 5 minutes and have a catch with a young person. It’s the little moments in a person's life that make a bigger difference in their growth and development as successful human beings.
