I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where I attended Olentangy Liberty High School. In high school, I was a scholar athlete who played two sports, baseball and basketball. After high school, I attended the University of Michigan on a baseball scholarship. I played at U of M from 2010-2013. In the summers of 2011-12, I played baseball in the Cape Cod League. During the 2012 season on the Cape, I had my first encounter with Aaron. We played against each other that summer but little did I know, a best friend in the making was standing in the other dugout. After my junior season at Michigan, I was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft.
In 2013, I officially met Aaron for the first time as we were both selected to the New York Yankees. Aaron and I were teammates and roommates from 2013- 2016. Following leaving the Yankees after the 2016 season, I continued my professional baseball career until 2019 where I played for the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cincinnati Reds.
In the fall of 2019, I went back to the University of Michigan to finish my degree (Bachelors of the Arts). I graduated in 2020 becoming a proud University of Michigan alum. Go Blue! In the spring of 2021, I began a medical sales career with Stryker. I currently hold a sales representative position selling infection prevention products in the local Columbus, Ohio market.
As I look to the future and my passions after baseball, I think it is very important to note my desire to make our communities a better place. I feel it is important to give back and provide similar values and opportunities given to me to our next generation of youth and aspiring leaders. A way I have done this that brings me great joy and personal satisfaction is by coaching children of various age groups in baseball. helping them build confidence and positive self esteem. I’m passionate about ALL RISE and the development of young men and women through literacy, positive social media influence, and athletics to make their respective communities a better place, too.
