Linda Johnson
Vice President / Secretary
Linda Johnson is an excellent teacher and leader who is frequently called upon for her knowledge of building and leading youth sports organizations. She dedicated over thirty-six years to working with youth in her community, mainly in the athletic realm. After graduating with her Bachelors of Arts in Physical Education from Fresno State, she began her career at her high school alma mater, Franklin High School in Stockton, California. Linda’s goal has always been to provide an environment that encourages our youth to develop a positive relationship with physical education and sports and to teach children that with hard work, they will achieve success.
Prior to her recent retirement, Linda taught Physical Education at Franklin High School, Linden High School and Glenwood Elementary. In addition to teaching, she served as Athletic Director for thirty years, where she led and organized the athletic department at a school of over four thousand students. During her teaching career, she also enjoyed coaching tennis, basketball, softball, volleyball and badminton. Her most rewarding honors were being selected as Sac-Joaquin Athletic Director of the Year in 2001 and earning the Cal Rasmussen Award in 2009, which is awarded to an Athletic Director for recognition of their long standing dedication to the Sac- Joaquin Athletic Directors Association.
Linda served on the Board of Directors for Sac-Joaquin Athletic Directors Association as the Large School Representative and served as the Treasurer. Keeping in line with her goals, she acted as the Player Agent for Linden Little League. She is dedicated to her community and youth programs and will continue to inspire those around her.
